Hello Sir,
There is a limit to customers patience and I guess Tata Motors only job is to test the patience. I have purchased a TATA SUMO GRANDE EX for over 1 ½ yr now but still none of the issues I have been complaining about since day one has not been resolved. I have tried all the mediums possible.
1) Call Tata complaint Number
2) Multiple Calls to my dealer Concorde Motors / Speak to their various heads like Mr Mayur
3) Multiple Emails to all the people at the dealership.
I highly doubt if there is any type of Quality Control/Check done at any service station or as a matter of fact even at the manufacturing level. Every time I have sent my car to service station it has just been there for days and then come back without any work done. In year and a half time my car has visited the Tata service station ten times which get the average to one visit every 45 days. It is so disgusting that inspite of the fact that I provide a list of complaints in bullet form on my letterhead no one check the list just sign the list and sent it back. Mr Pascal/Mr Ravi/Mr Ajaz/Mr Mayur at Concorde Motors and Mr Vijay Mane at Richard Motors are the people who were responsible for this pathetic service as they had assured me they will personally check the car before delivery.
I had purchased the car through Concorde Motors and the sales guy was Mr Ajaz. There would not be a worst unethical salesperson like him and given an option I would get him arrested for fraud. To sell the car he promised me he would provide me free Teflon Coating and anti rust treatment on my car. On delivery he assured me these things were done but when I checked with my local mechanic he said none of these things were done, on confronting him he said he would get it done in a week time. Today it is over a year and it hasn’t been done yet. When I complained to him about the car problem and pathetic service from Concorde Motors he tells me that Concorde is actually very bad in servicing and recommended me to go to Richard Garage.
I am hereby giving the list of complaints I have and would hope that there would be some action taken else this same mail would be posted on every car blog and consumer complaint website for warning people against this fraud company. Sorry for the profanity but it’s all thanks to the frustration built up due to your product and service.
Car Alignment: The car alignment is off from day one and I had complained about it but as usual no action was taken. Even during first servicing and second servicing I was told that the alignment was checked. Eventually on Bombay Goa highway the tyre was wobbling and when I took it to a nearby tyre shop he showed me that both the front tyres were worn out from inside and white thread were clearly visible. I had to change one tyre immediately. I have still kept the worn out tyre and the bill for refund purpose cause if a tyre gets worn out at 18,000 kms then either the tyre is faulty or your alignment checking which was done at 15,000 km apparently.
Car Average: Why promise stuff which you can’t provide. I drive my car 80% highway only and fill fuel full tank to full tank. I still record average of 6.5 KMPL maximum on this car. On complaining I get the normal answer that it shows proper on checking. The max km I get from my 64lt tank is 425 kms and I actually celebrated that day.
Third Row Seating: From day one the third row seating does not hook itself to the second row as the hook length is short (typical tata design) even before the seat covers were put. On complaining I was told to get it extended from a roadside cobbler. Wow do you guys also have authorised cobblers.
Head Lights: The head light from day one are focus toward the sky even at the lowest level of light height. This creates hazard for oncoming traffic. Again no action is taken and further one side light is not working and the other side light cap has automatically fallen from inside. I was told thatI would get replacement lights which haven’t yet come and the reason given to me was that there is a spare part shortage. Its been two months now and in this much time even BMW parts arrive from Germany.
Car Cleaning: I got delivery of my car with sweat stains and grease stain inside the car on the glovebox and the fabric. I spent 8lakhs for that new car feel and smell. This is the worst you can give a new car buyer. Even during the first and second servicing the Car was not cleaned and you can confirm this with Mr Ravi at Concorde and Mr Salian at Richard.
A/c Vents: There is tremendous noise in the A/c vents and also there is air leak from third row vents. The exhaust switch turns on and off on its own and also there is no cut off in A/C .
Co Passenger Tray: One of the most pathetic fitting in the car. The tray comes out on its own makes tremendous vibration and still cannot be fixed. I request please throw that junk out of me car if it cannot be fixed.
Seat Belt: The driver side seat belt would lock itself inside and won’t come out lot of times. I have to wait for 15-20 minutes after which it gets in mood to come out.
Wires hanging: There are wires hanging below the driver seat and passenger seat from day one. I have complained but they are still there and I was also told by Mr Ajaz that this is how they are placed in the car.
Door Plastic Panel: This is another highlight of the car. All the four door panel one by one fall of the door at an average of once in ten days. This is extremely frustrating as the door which panel is down will not even open.
Water Leakage: From day one all the doors are leaking the water seeps in and has ruined my carpet and also the brand new speakers in the door panel. Everytime I am told that it is fixed and there is no way to check till it rains and ruins the car further. After a rainy night I keep the door open and I can fill a bucket of water from all the water logged in the door panel. Is this rainwater harvesting?
Plastic Fitting: The car steering is so badly fixed that from side I can actually see the interior of the steering.
Vibration: The car makes so many weird noises during driving, the front speaker lid vibration the door panel vibration the seats creaking etc etc. And during idling it gets into some crazy mode where the entire car starts vibrating and the seat feels like vibrating chair. The noise is high and scary.
Rust: All the seats have started rusting from bottom and the worst is the driver seat. Within a year if my seat gets rusted should I blame Tata steel or Tata Motor service for not fixing the leakage. I need the rusted seat to be replaced immediately.
I think this is more or less the complaints I have for this car and that also from day one all these emails have been sent to the dealership time and again but nothing has changed your quality of service. Even TATA motors helpline assured me action will be taken in 48 hours but nothing of that sort has happened all I got in reply was a female calling from Richard garage apologizing and nothing else. I have also attached the earlier email with their corresponding dates and email of the people it was sent to.
I now need some responsible and ethical person if any from TATA MOTORS directly getting these things sorted for me and then sending me the car back after proper checking and signature on this letter. If this is your level of three years free warrant I am sure you can afford to give it for thirty years.

Dear Sir,
It was to my sheer disappointment that lot of things that
were promised to me when the car was purchased hasn’t been provided to
me yet.
Over and above that the average of 6kmpl is extremely low and not the
average the company has promised the customers I would need this to be
rectified else need a replacement to my car. This is a self driven car
and I am the only driver all average readings are taken from full tank
to full tank.
I have hereby provided the list of defects which needs immediate
repairing. Kindly send the car back on 24th dec after fixing and
checking the entire list of defect provided.
PROBLEMS IN CAR
-Clutch Plate is Hard. Needs to be lowered
-Engine Speed is High and also gets Higher when ac is on
-There is no cut out for A/c
-Extremely Low Average of 6 (381 Kms for 63 Liters of Hi Speed diesel)
-Teflon Coating not done yet as promised
-There is defected rubber beading all around the car in all the doors
and front windscreen. I haven’t come across such pathetic quality
rubber in any of the cars on road. They come out on slightest touch.
-The co-passenger seat vibrates tremendously. The Hand rest over there
is loose and tilted since day one.
-Anti Rust Coating not done yet as promised
-The third row seat does not lift easily and also it just cant hook on
the second row head rest either the hook are short or its not aligned.
-Co-passenger seat tray also is loose and comes out on its own. It
also gives a lot of vibrating sound.

Dear Sir,
It was to my sheer disappointment that my brand new Tata Sumo Grande Ex purchased from your dealership has come with loads of fault.
INSPITE OF ME SENDING THE LIST LAST TIME AND EVEN AFTER
MR PASCAL CHECKING IT PERSONALLY THE CAR STILL CAME BACK WITH THE EARLIER MENTIONED ISSUES.
I still fail to understand what was done with my car in your workshop for a week.
At this point I have given up with Concorde Motors but still trying my luck as I deserve some service for Rs 7.5 Lakhs I spent on this car.I have hereby provided the list of defects which needs immediate repairing. Kindly at least this time send the car back on after fixing and checking the entire list of defect provided.
I have highlighted the problems which were ignored when I sent the car earlier.
If there is any responsibility left toward your customer then kindly fix these issues and then send the car.
DEFECTS IN CAR TICK
First Service of the car is due.
Driver side door rubber tube is loose since day one.
Back door plastic is not screwed from day one.
The car is giving low average of 6.5 in city.
Glove Box does not shut properly
Weird vibration when engine on idle for longer time
Interiors need full cleaning lots of grease stains and also the roof fabric is all dirty from sides there are red pen marks on dashboard from day one which has been left untouched.
Windscreen rubber beading is out from driver side
Lots of loose wire hanging below seat and front dashboard
Kindly check the car and tick once all defects are solved. I would require one signed copy back.
