generally i bought some books from readers digest with its magazine. but this group is utilising
cheap and disgracing tactics. they generally allure with prizes of lacs. i emailed them and wrote letters not to send such promotional materials to me. but they are sendin it weakly and it is uneasy for me to handle and read these absurd taqctics inthis age of 75. address and account no.s beinmg given here.

i received letter from you just today on 18-05-2011. but cover was opened and the document for receiving prize fund was there but the reply envelopes of either "YES" OR "NO" were missing and not found in the cover!! .Please guide me what can i do?.

Reader digest is cheating everyone with the prize letters.
Anyone replying to the prize mails will have to buy books which are useless. The prize letters will have one line mentioned in somewhere in the pile of pages received. Once you reply to any of the letters you will get a gift of some useless object and a book. You will continue to receive these kind of gifts for many months and there will be follow up letter which says you have to pay the due amount. The money will gradually raise and they will respond with harsh followup letters if you don't pay the amount. In the end you will end up paying a huge sum of money over months and you will know that you will never get the lakhs or cars

Never fall for readers digest and I suggest you go for better magazines with good standards.
In my experience Reader digest follows a third rate business tactics which is not even followed by telemarketers.

More than two months ago I sent a letter to Reader's Digest BHE (I) Pvt Ltd with the request that a copy of their Publication 1001 Great Ways to Get Better be sent to me on this address: Tej Nath Dhar, 149 First Floor, Indraprastha Colony, Sector 30-33, Faridabad 121003. The letter sent by registered mail also enclosed a cheque for Rs 1279.00 (price +postage). My Bank (Indian Overseas Bank, NHPC Complex, Faridabad 121003) has informed that the money has already been debited to my account (on 8-8-2011). Since I did not get any response to my letter, I sent a reminder to you by speedpost on 07/09/2011, but I have not heard from you even now.
I am sure you will agree with me that this a serious lapse on the part of the Company and needs urgent attention. I, therefore, request that the book may kindly be sent to me immediately.
