I have some damaged(teared) currency notes.I need to exchange those.Where can I get those notes exchanged?Can i get it done in any nationalized bank anywhere in india?I approached to SBI(University branch),Pune.
Concerned clerk over there told me that i have to go to treasury branch to get the notes exchanged.Is it that only treasury can exchange it or all nationalized branch(any branch) should accept such notes?Is there any order by reserve bank of India stating that all nationalized bank must accept and exchange damaged currency notes?
