Sub: Assessment for 2009-2010 not filed & harassment levied on me by Korde Consultants for passport & IT

In June 2010, I paid Mr. Korde Rs 2000 in advance as fees for filing my assessment for the financial year April 2009 – March 2010 (Rs 0 liability) & getting my passport renewed. I told Mr. Korde that IBM has made it compulsory to have a valid passport & that my passport has expired. I also told him that I couldn’t take any leaves or weekly off as & when I wished & that my weekly offs will be any day during the week. That was the condition I had signed at the time of recruitment at IBM. Mr. Korde assured me that I will not have to travel to any office & that my passport will be given to me at my house without having to go out of my house. Mr. Korde assured me that since I have all the documents my Income tax assessment will be done within 10 days & that I will not have to travel or take any weekly off for the same. Since I didn’t have any tax liability for 2009 – 2010 & I had all my documents I asked Mr. Korde why do I need to pay Rs 1000 to the IT and Rs 1000 to the passport office? To this Mr. Korde said that since I could not personally go to any office & wanted my IT filing to be done immediately I had to pay the amount of Rs 2000. I gave him all the relevant documents, paid him Rs 2000 & asked him for a receipt. He said that I will receive the receipt later since it wasn’t issued by him. After 2 days he rang me up stating that I will have to go to the passport office since the rules have changed which he did not know whilst taking the amount from me. He told me that it will take only 2 minutes at the passport office since they only wanted to see my face & that he had already submitted my documents & fixed my appointment date & time. I told him that I had high fever & could not go to the passport office. I had to urgently visit the doctor in my weekly off. I informed him that with great difficulty I going to IBM & my office was adjusting with me. I am rostered to be in office on Friday & that I cannot come. He stated that a further date cannot be given. IBM cooperated with me & changed my weekly off to Friday as a special request so that I could go to the passport office & my IT assessment will be filed.
Mr. Korde told me that I had to get another photograph removed eventhough the photographs that I had were current, front facing, colored & with a white background. I travelled till Andheri station to get a photograph clicked. Since I had fever & I was consuming medicines for it my face was swollen, my eyes were swollen & small. My nose & lips also looked different. I told Mr. Korde to come to the passport office to which he reluctantly agreed. Outside the passport office I showed Mr. Korde my photograph & said that it was fine. He gave me back my documents and said that he had not photocopied them & that I had to get it done before going inside. Not knowing the area I went searching for a Xerox machine & got my documents photocopied. This took me nearly an hour. He asked me to invest in LIC to which I refused. I had to stand in the hot sun & then in an overcrowded room for more than 4 hours in a line at the passport office until I reached some seats wherein I could sit & still wait in the line. I did not bring any food, water or medicine alongwith me because Mr. Korde told me that it will take only 2 minutes. My fever increased & I was semiconscious. A foreigner offered me water. Everytime I rang him up he would say he is speaking to the person concerned & that he has some urgent work & he has to go now. I reminded him that I left my bag with him. After nearly 1 more hour on the seats I reached the window. The clerk refused to accept my photograph since my face looked fat whence I clicked it & I am thin. Also, my hair was on my face in the new photograph which he stated is not acceptable. My swollen eyes had gone inside so he said that my photo is totally different from me. I gave him the other photographs that my office had clicked with a white background. He said that the photograph was ok but since I had not shown it before I cannot submit it now. He told me to come another day. The clerk even harassed me stating that he was not sure my documents are right. I showed him the originals as well as the 2 sets of photocopies. He kept telling me to come another day. The people who were standing in the line with me in the office said that that clerk harasses everyone & that it was the 2nd or 3rd time they were coming to that office & waiting for 4-6 hours everytime. While we were talking the clerk snatched the form from my hand again & angrily put the stamp. He then shouted at me & told me to go to another window to make the payment. Eventhough I had paid Mr. Korde I had to make another payment. I had reached the passport office at 10:30 am & it was 3:30 pm when I finally came out of the passport office. Mr. Korde promised me that my assessment will be done within 7 days & that he will courier me the receipt of the same. I received a renewed passport with a face quite different from my face but I accepted it since I had to submit its details to IBM. I didn’t receive the receipt of Rs 2000 & the receipt of the assessment. I kept dialing all the numbers in the advertisement of Korde Consultants. The mobile # calls were never answered. On the landline # a rude lady would answer the call & keep telling me that this is an LIC office & that Mr. Korde does not work in their office & then she would abruptly disconnect my call. With no option I kept dialing the same # because I had spoken to Mr. Korde on that same # previously. Finally, I managed to get another person a man on the line who gave me another mobile #. When I dialed that # Mr. Korde answered it & kept asking me who was the one who gave me his #. Whenever I ring him up he either doesn’t answer the phone or answers it & tells me that he is very sorry that he has not done my work & keeps harassing me to invest in LIC & I have always firmly refused. I told Mr. Korde that I have kept that amount for my marriage & cannot invest it anywhere. Then he promises to get it done within a week. I kept telling him to return my shares file since I don’t have any profits in those shares & that it does not have to even be included in my Income Tax assessment. I had given my shares file to him to find out how many total shares I owned in Firstsource Solutions Ltd. He agreed to make a statement & give me which was included in the Rs 2000 that I paid him. In Sept 2011 he came & returned my shares file without making any statement. He again spoke about LIC. He promised me that my assessment will be done in 2 days. Mr. Korde has made a firm stand that until I don’t my marriage amount to him to invest in LIC he is not going to get my assessment work done. I have been harassed by Mr. Korde. On one occasion Mr. Korde even told me that my assessment is done & that when he will get time he will personally come to deliver the receipt from the IT department. Since he didn’t come to give me the receipt I called him in the middle of Sept 2011 & cross-questioned him & told him that I am going to go to the grievances department since they haven’t given him a receipt. He then confessed that he had not filed my assessment & that he had told me lies. He said that he had a business partner whom he had given my work & that his partner did not do my work. He later denied that he had informed me that my assessment has been filed. He only accepted the fact that he had delayed my work. He said that his partner had told him that my work will be done on Sunday that same week. I told him that maybe Sunday is a holiday for the IT department. I told him that Sunday is too far since today is Tuesday. He then said that by Thursday my assessment will be filed & that on Thursday evening he will give me a call. Since that call in mid-September 2011 I have tried calling him several times. He does not answer any of the phones. Today is October 15 and I have still not received the Rs 2000 receipt nor has my assessment been done for the financial year 2009 – 2010. Also, I cannot get my assessment done for the financial year 2010 – 2011 since my previous year’s assessment is not done. Please guide me. Following are Mr. Korde’s details –

I somehow managed to get Mr Korde to speak to me middle of last month. Initially he told me to forget my money. He also stated that there is no need to get an assessment done every year. He said that now if he files my returns i will have to pay a fee to the income tax department. I told him that he delayed filing my assessment from more than 1 year. I also informed him that I have wrote to your website. He then said that he will definitely get my assessment done & give me the receipt before the end of the month. However, he has not got my assessment done.

I managed to contact Mr Korde on 5th of Jan, 2012. Mr Korde has openly stated that he is not going to file my assesssment since it has been a long time & that I have written a complaint against him in this forum. I reminded him that he has taken an amount from me to do the work & that he has delayed the work & not me. To this Mr Korde stated that he will return my money. However he is very busy & can come to my house only at the end of the month. Mr Korde had also previously falsely assured me in November & never turned up. I asked him to courier a cheque on my name. He declined & said that since he is busy he will only come at the end of January to return my entire amount. MR KORDE FROM KORDE CONSULTANTS SEEMS TO HAVE NO INTENTION IN RETURNING MY MONEY.

He has blantly stated on the previous call that he is not going to do my work even after taking advance payment. Since 2 days I am trying to fruitlessly contact him. I managed to get him on the line on 26th January. However, after hearing my name he pretended that he couldn't hear my voice.

Mr Korde has not fulfilled his promise of returning my amount by the end of the month. He has blantly stated on the previous call that he is not going to do my work even after taking advance payment.
