Faulty fitment of oil sump/oil pump done by HIM MOTORS, Peeragarhi, leading to engine cease.
We gave our car for repairs to HIM MOTORS, Peeragarhi. Initially we were told that oil sump had to be replaced and gave as an estimate of Rs 2500. Then we were updated that oil pump had to be replaced as well and estimate increased to Rs 16000. Finally, we were asked to take the car back, but when we insisted on test drive, we found that car stopped within 100 meters. Car was again taken back for further investigation and next day we were told that car engine has ceized and we might need to pay additional Rs 50,000 to Rs 80,000.
It turned out that, workshop ppl had themselves driven the car for 24 km, and because of there fault fitment + driving of car the engine ceized. And now workshop is asking us to pay for there fault.
Our complaint with HIM MOTORS Peeragarhi is as follows:
1. After HIM MOTORS did a test drive for 24 km (which you also agree to), your workshop was unable to detect any issue, whereas when we took the test drive, issue surfaced within 100 meter of drive. This suggests some goof-up took place at HIM MOTORS end.
2. Most importantly, initially your workshop gave us an estimate of Rs 2500 only for replacing oil sump. Subsequently we were conveyed that Oil Pump had to be changed. Once we gave approval for that as well. HIM MOTORS replaced both Oil sump + Oil Pump, did a test drive of 24 km and after that car's engine ceased.
This very clearly indicates that fitment of oil sump/oil pump done by HIM MOTORS was faulty, which resulted in engine cease.
Hence, we are simply asking HIM MOTORS, to rectify the goof-up done by their workshop by fixing the engine at their own cost and additionally compensate us for the inconvenience/harassment caused.
Details:
17 Jan: The car’s oil sump was damaged and it was leaking oil, it was given to HIM motors Peeragarhi for repairs. The car was running fine till that time apart from the oil leak. Advisor over there, on ****yzing the damage estimated the repair cost for the same as Rs.2500.
18 Jan: We were told that the oil pump is damaged and needs to be replaced; costing around Rs 9300 and total cost Rs 16000 (including labor).
21 Jan: They called up to deliver the car, which they had already test driven and had given an okay report. I insisted for test drive at delivery time, but within 50-100 meters it created problems. It was stopping abruptly in between. (Weirdly, this problem was not there when I gave the car to HIM motors). I was told to contact them back next day.
22 Jan: When I called them back, they reported that the engine has ceased. The new bill amount could go upto Rs 80,000 The advisor told us that they might have missed the problem, because car had been tested for 5-6 km. We checked the car by turning it on and found it had been test driven for 24 Kms, which was clearly the reason for engine cease.
