Unsatisfactory Clutch Replacement Job
8 Months and 3,500 Kms back, I had replaced the complete clutch assembly at M/s Thanawala Motor Agency Pvt. Ltd at Wagle Estate Thane, who are the authorised service centre for Maruti Suzuki cars.
The car has been driven by me for short distances and occasionally by son. The last time my son took my car out he had found the clutch was slipping at high speeds. I have more 25 years of driving experience and my son too has over 10 years of driving experience.
When I approached M/s Thanawala, their customer service manager Mr. Jacob had said that there is no guarantee on clutch (He refused to give anything in writing with regards to the guarantee) and that there have are cars in which the clutch has been worn out with less than 1000 kms.
Given that both my son and I are both experienced drivers, the reasons for the clutch wearing out within such minimal usage can be one or a combination of any of the given possible reason as below:
1. The old clutch plate was never really replaced and such serviced and refitted.
2. The clutch fitted in the car was not genuine.
3. The quality of Maruti Suzuki Clutch plates is sub standard.
4. The fitting and tuning done by M/s Thanawala was done improperly and led to excessive wear of the clutch plate.
Thus to say the least, I am extremely disappointed with the quality of the service provided and the parts of Maruti Suzuki and would highly appreciate views and suggestions on any action I can take to correct this deficiency of service.
