Dear Sir,

Sub: Complaint on bad services of BMW Mantra Grinder and about its irresponsible behavior

We purchased a Mantra Wet grinder day on 29/07/2010 from M/s. The Mahaveer’s vide inv. # 8006. Though, we originally intended to buy only ULTRA wet grinder since are happy Ultra customers and never faced any service issue ever since we bought the machine, but we got totally got carried away listening to the BIG statements made by M/s. Mahaveer’s representative boasting about MANTRA wet grinder features such as its 150 watts Heavy duty motor and 12 years warranty and excellent sales.
But It is only post our purchase we realized how big the mistake was and feel terrible believing the merchant so blindly without doing any market survey about Mantra grinder’s credential or about its service support.

It is on the second day of our purchase, we could try using the machine but we were totally got taken back since no sooner it started leaving unbearable burnt smell and the unit became extremely hot within no time though the quantity we have put in was very less. Immediately we turned off the machine and tried to run the machine little later since we have to finish the grinding job but in vain. The machine still was leaving bad and strong burnt smell. When we complaint this to the merchant company M/s. Mahaveer, they were so casual about it and said this might happen when we use the machine for the first time and may last for couple of times. We went by the suggestions of M/s. Mahaveer’s using the machine for the second time but in vain. It continued to leave bad smell and never could complete the job without any stress. It’s always been a BIG challenge to complete the grinding job without getting upset on our decision. Even if the quantity is very less we can never complete the job in one go and the machine gets extremely hot

Even as on date It is a BIG challenge to push the Manta staff (BMW - Balaji Machine Works, Hyderabad office) to look into the issue. Despite of numerous requests to them to pay a visit they never send their technicians as promised to sort the issue. They ask us to soak the dal to check the machine but most of the times they never turn up as scheduled. Even if they come they never let us know what the issue is. It was in utter distress we approached their operations head Mr. Charles he seems to be so causal about the whole episode. When we repeatedly persuaded him with a threat to lodge a complaint in the consumer forum, he arranged to pick the machine barely 2 days back and gave us a instant feedback saying the machine is working fine when he tested that in his office and asked us to soak the dal again to test it at our end.

Now, it is morethan 2 days we are waiting for the service engineers but in vain. They never turn up as promised again, so irresponsible and pays a deaf ear to their customer’s problem, efforts and resources.
Mr. Charles who is holding such a responsible position seems to be so irresponsible in attending to his customers issues and goes around scot-free.

Now we are totally upset with our numerous follow up calls with BMC – Hyderabad office and wish to take up this issue thru’ your office for an emicable solution. Hence we request your esteemed office to probe into the issues and the sequence of events to get us out of the agony which we are going thru’ from the time we got this machine, which is almost 4 months plus.

We once again wish to reiterate that Mantra Wet Grinder is Terrible and seems to be marketed with Low quality which is not fit for use even if it’s been given free of cost. Hence we request you to initiate necessary steps to protect innocent buyers. You may even check numerous complaints in many of the web forums.
