    Thumbs down Complaint against services of Sony - India

    I have purchased a new Sony Bravia 32NX500 LCD TV in June 2010. Last week the LCD TV got switched off automatically and the display went bad. Its a new TV and not even a month old.

    We had registered a complaint at the customer care centre (1800-103-7799) on the 26th of June 2010 vide complaint number 5517162 .

    They assured us the call will be attended in 2 working days and inspite of we calling them they have only given us false assurances but no one has come to attend the same.

    Being a company of such a repute their service was considered to be one of the best but nave never come across such horrible after sales service.

    I had also registered a complaint thru their web-site and a lady from Delhi had called up but she was not in a position to answer any queries and gave a reason that she is from the call centre and will forward the call to the concern department.

    If the complaint reaches the right person then would like them to please look into the same.

    Default poor product qualtiy and wrong committments by SONY

    My Name is Umesh Verma, residing at New Delhi and I had purchased Sony Projection TV , Model no KF-E42A10 for my home on 05/11/06 (Invoice copy attached) and just after purchase of 3.5 years the TV stop working. When the engineer was called, It was clarified very arrogantly that the Lamp is not working and needs to be replaced and Rs 10396.00 shall be charged for the same.

    The Service Engineer plainly told me to approve the bill of Rs 10496.00 for the lamp and he will replace it tomorrow.”Yeh to ho jata hai, company ki koi guarantee nahi hai isme, chae to aap consumer court mein try kar lena”

    I am stunned that when I purchased the TV, it was assured to me by the dealer and the Sony rep present there that I am buying product of SONY (which means lifelong guarantee of trouble free operation and the lamp shall be replaced after 60000 hrs of life- which seems to be reasonable deal).

    Now when I look towards SONY for free replacement of the lamp and the commitments of the dealer and the sales men were giving guarantee of trouble free operation 60000 hrs of working life of lamp. I can assure you that TV is not even used for more than 2500 Hrs. I really feel cheated.

    Even I am a purchase manager for my organization and does found such response from the supplier and don’t even expect the same

    I purchased this TV Just because of the reliability of SONY and the TRUST I had in mind of SONY Products, but I really regret my decision.

    Request please look into this matter and arrange to provide the free replacement of the lamp on priority.

    Default Sony tv

    I purchased a Sony Bravia TV for Rs 63,000 in August 2008. It was probably one of the most expensive TVs in the market at the time. I bought believing that I was getting good quality from a reputed compnay with supposedly good after sales service. Sadly, I had serious troube with the TV and after it stopped working in October 2010 ( just over 2 years after purchase) I was presented with an estimate of Rs 18,000 for repairs. This came as a rude shock as one doesnt expect to spend such a major amount on repairs within such a short time. We have been in constant touch with the helpline who are anything but helpful and never call back when they say they will. After several calls/complaints from our side we have now been told that there is nothing that can be done and that we will have to bear the Rs 18,000 on repairs for a TV that has hardly been used. I am disgusted with their attitude ( they know that since it is out of the gaurantee period they are legally safe) - they do not want to meet us face to face and have said that we cannot go to their office in mathura Road to meet anybody. My very strong advice to people like me who believe they are buying the best when they buy SONY - stay as far away from it as possible unless you want to burn your fingers. My BPL TV which is now almost 15 years old has never ever been repaired!

    I have purchased a new Sony Bravia 32NX400 LCD TV in MAY 2010. Last month the LCD TV got switched off automatically and the display STOPPED.

    We had registered a complaint at the customer care centre on the 19th of December 2010 .

    Their engineer visited after two days and informed that supply board was out of order and need to be repaced. Since it was out of stock it would take some time. On various follow up they visited on 30 th December with new suppl board and after checking they informed it is in order but MOTHER BOARD is defctive and needs to be relaced. It is not in stock and would take 7-8 days. Again after various follow up they visited with new MOTHER BOARD. After checking they informed that MOTHER BOARD is ok but Panel is defective.
    Now they said it will take 7-8 days to replace it.
    We are in fix with these findings and do not know how to react.


    Being a company of such a repute their service was considered to be one of the best but have never come across such horrible after sales service.


    If the complaint reaches the right person then would like them to please look into the same.

    Angry Defective Sony Bravia LED delivered - Stopped working after 1 day

    Hi,

    I purchased a Sony Bravia 32 inch LCD TV (KDL-32EX710) for Rs 50k from Bajaj Electronics Hyderabad on 26th Jan 2011 which was delivered on 27th Jan 2011 evening. The installation guy from Sony support couldn't turn on the TV for a good 1/2 hr after which it automatically started working. He also passingly mentioned that the TV looked like being a display piece used earlier by the dealer (Bajaj Electronics). Alas the TV was operational for a few hours only and stopped working. I raised a complaint on 29th Jan and no service technician has visited me till date even after making 5 calls and being assured that the technician will come. Sony claims to respond within 48 hrs but that is a Sham. What kind of customer support is being provided in this day and age?

    Fault:
    The red diagnostic light blinks twice which indicates that there is a short circuit in the board. I am surprised to know that basic checks are not done before a TV is circulated in the market. Or has a used piece been delivered to my house which would be shocking and not acceptable?

    I want SONY India to respond immediately on the following
    1. I want a service technician to visit my house immediately to diagnose the problem. The SLA of responding within 48 hrs has not been met by SONY.
    2. If there is any fault with the TV I need a replacement or refund of my money. I don't want my TV to be repaired in 'ANY' Manner . I have dished out 50k for this and don't want a repaired piece starting from day ONE. Such pieces should not be circulated in the market.

    Exclamation Is it really the world acclaimed brand SONY!!!

    Hi,
    I purchased a Sony Bravia 32 inch LCD TV (32NX500) from PCH Hyderabad on 16.05.2010.
    We had hardly used it for 250-300 hours.
    Yesterday(5/3/11) it had some problem. I was watching television since morning (from 9.00am ). At around 2.00 pm i swiched it off. after 10 mins when I switch it on SONY logo was not coming properly (it was wandering here n there), after that a message came " select Home from Auto start menu for normal performance" and after that the volume level was 255 (though the maximum volume is 100) and it is not coming down by remote or back panel switches.
    To over come that i switch off/on my TV many times, no change happened. then i reset the autostart menu to home (although it was already set). after that also volume level is not coming down at all.
    Then i reset the TV to factory setting.........then it was working ok.....but i was afraid that......it may a starting of some big problem.....and it happened........

    Today(6/3/11) when it was running fine suddenly there was a black out....... no display no sound......no response of remote or back panel switch.......only power light (green ) was coming.
    I registered a complaint (no. 7071251) on 6.3.11 and they promise to send technician tomorrow.....

    I really wonder that this company has so good image and when they are making such a big and expensive LCD TV this type of problem gives inconvenience and non reliability on such costly brands.We are spending our hard earned money on these brand and the type of product they manufacture comes out as a defective piece and moreover for such an expensive item, the company is providing a warranty of only 1year . I am afraid if the problem would have come after the warranty period, there will be no rescue for us other than again spending huge amount for the repair. The warranty period should be at least 5 years ,the customer might not mind paying another Rs 500 - 1000 for the extended warranty period.
    I just want this issue to be resolved efficiently without delay. Hoping to get for the best after sales service from the company and an assurance that the problem will not reoccur in future.

    Default Bad customer service

    Sir,
    My client had purchased a home theater system, for which i called the sony help centre (worli, Mumbai) for a demo.
    I regret to inform you, the behavior on the customer care side is so slack. my first call was for a demo on saturday the 25th, the technician did not turn up on time and called two hours later, the second call for the demo was made the following saturday for which the technician just did not turn up , this time no call.

    I gave one more try earlier this week, the technician came to the house (which is a new flat) and wasnt willing to work without having a look at the receipts. I fail to see how that is a criteria since the entire system is set up, and the centre has all the details logged in on the computer.

    eitherways, it is a clients house, i being the architect, im not entitled to handling such papers, i think there could have been an understanding.
    Its disappointing that the products are so good, but help is so bad.

    Sony servic is very poor My complaint of 6/8/2011 no. 7912433 hasnot been attended for the last 3 days. Customer care is giving the no of Ms vinita tyagi, but all the time her number is busy.I caanot imagine the company like sony of high repute fails in after sale service.Very bad on part of Sony. this complaint is regarding 32" LED Tv. no display, no ound no indication at all.

    Hi,

    I purchased a Sony Bravia 32 inch LCD TV from QRS Trivandrum on 16/08/2010. Now some vertical lines are showing on the screen. I registered a complaint, but poor response from the customer service. The company has so good image and when they are making such a big and expensive LCD TV this type of problem gives inconvenience and non reliability on such costly brands. We are spending our hard earned money on these brand more over for such an expensive item. We must get a good response from the customer care. The service center is near to my home and they are not even come to check my complaint within 24 hours and they are not taking the phone too. I afraid this is not the original Sony TV that I had bought from the QRS Trivandrum because I heard that they have good service. Next time I never buy any Sony products.

    Angry Complaint of sony vaio laptop newly purchased

    Dear Sir,

    My name is Varsha Patel from Miramar and i purchased a Sony Vaio Laptop VPC EA 32EN Sr. No. 7001137 on the 29th of March'2011 (Invoice No. : 5580). I did a lot of research before i bought this laptop and unfortunately this laptop failed to impress me . After only 3 months of using the laptop , my laptop started giving problems . The power would turn off automatically while i am working . About 4 days back my laptop was not turning on. I went to the Sony Service Centre and met Mr.Sagar who works there, he told me that the Motherboard has crashed and needs to be replaced. How can the motherboard crash in 3 months ? Was i sold a faulty laptop ? Its not a common problem to occurr for a 3 month old laptop.

    I have been using a laptop for years and used Dell ,and was extremely happy with the laptop . I thought ,buying a premium laptop like a Sony Vaio would be a better choice . And i am extremely upset with what has happened. I am a professional singer and i perform with the help of my laptop , because of such a peculiar problem i have had to cancel my shows and its a huge loss for me.

    I would want my laptop to replaced at the earliest otherwise i will have to take a step further.

    Dear Sir/Madam,
    I Its been just two months we bought a sony bravia LCD TV( BX32) and we are facing problems with it. A RED horizontal line appears on the screen. So we spoke to the person from where the TV was purchased. They told us they will change the panel and set it right and got a new different panel. Unfortunately the new panel was not working at all. There was some problem with the new panel, which was not tested before delivering to us. So they have taken that panel back along with our TV. So from last two days we have no TV at home. We trust Sony so much that this was really a shock for us. within two months of purchase if this happens then it definitely created such bad impression about such a nice brand. So I kindly request Sony to replace our TV with a new good one. And i also heard lot of such complaints from people around. Hope such problems wont occur in any of the products we buy in the future. Please fix it. Thank You

    Unhappy Poor Service of Sony India

    We have purchased Bravia TV at Sony World Noida. Warranty card serial no. (2430829) and TV serial no. (2429881) not matched . This regarding we contact Sony Word after approx. 10 days of purchase date but after 2.5 months he says please wait 1 month. In this period we have seen black spot ( Pixel Dead) on the screen we register our complaint in Sony care 4 Oct.2011 but servicing engineer require Purchase invoice scanned copy. So we provide san copy Sony India (15 Oct.2011 or complain no. 8405787) and Xerox copy to service engineer but no response in Sony care . They assured us the call will be attended in 2 working days and inspite of we calling them they have only given us false assurances but no one call back to attend the same.

    Default Sony Bravia BX32

    5th time in as many as 6 months i need to invite service person to identify and rectify flaws in my TV. Sony commands premium for the quality standards, services and brand name it has build for years, but per my experience these are only promises, fresh product requires regular services, call center people only commit of the call back which never happens at with turnaround time of 48-72 hours, if emails are unattended for 2 months.

    I fail to understand why senior people from Sony shy from responding to queries raised by customers.

    Default I need my warranty

    Hello sir i am rahul solanki from dewas {madhya pradesh}
    my complant is for sony company camera and its owner.
    Past months ago. I had brought a digital camera for 10700rs
    from 20, tarani colony ,a.b road,dewas {m.p} 07272-251425
    one a the camera lens has been stuck so i thinked that its a normal
    probem and leave that matter cool......but suddenly one day the camera
    has stop working.nothing is happening in the camera not turning on in
    any condition. So i went to the owners shop.he told me that they will
    send the camera to the service centre at indore {m.p}
    i said its ok send it.
    When i called them they said the camera will cost 3000 rs of lens stuck.
    So i neglected him and bring my camera back to my home.
    And one day i think that lets see what happen in camera when i turn it
    on i was shoked that the l.c.d display is gone nothong happening only
    sound is comming from the camera.
    So i thinkd that send it back to the owners shop.
    He again said that they will again send it to the service centre.
    I said ok send it.
    When my camera returns back the owner said that it will cost 8000 rs.
    Of stuck lens and l.c.d
    so you tell me what wil i do now
    my camera price is 10700-rs and the reparing cost is 8000rs
    and the fact is that my camera is in warranty period and 2 months more
    left for warrany expirations period.
    So you tell what is the real meaning of the warranty and sony company.....?
    How they serve the coustomers you can see in my whole complant
    they are lotting me

    Hi,
    My Tv is not working since the begining of october. The complaints number is the 8303129. The guy from Sony india who came said without opening the TV "we need to change the motherboard, i order one". but..........
    I call your services many time and i don't receive a clear solution.

    I thank SONY was a good brand with a strong and performant organisation, but now i have a doubt !!
    Now I'm not sure than SONY India could tell me more about this issue and give me real date for the repairing and repair it correctly.

    Such a big brand but such poor service. I have been checking this on the net, there are plenty of complaints of Sony products and have known few people who have suffered post buying the product.

    No reason other brands like Samsung is a better choice and is more durable with advanced technology.

    Sad that such a big trusted brand is not maintaing quality
