Sub: CALOUS ATTITUDE OF SERVICE & CUSTOMER CARE OF SAMSUNG INDIA: COMPLAINT REGARDING
REF: Complaint Nos. 8414236048 & 8414594434
Dear M/S,
I have purchased a double door refrigerator Samsung model no. “SR-34 NMB”. The unit developed a typical problem of not cooling lower compartment where as the fridger compartment functions OK. I lodged 1st complaint on 29/03/2010 followed by many more on 21/04/10, 24/04/10, 06/05/10 & so forth & so on. I also lodged complaints via E-mail vide transaction nos. 2004292584 & 2004290072. After these efforts finally your service centre “Specular Services, Camp, Pune” lifted the unit from my residence on 12/05/2010. They returned the Fridge on 18/05/2010 and charged me Rs. 4, 645=00 towards Replacement of Heater/3000, Biometal/320, gas charging/750, labour charges/250, others/300 & Service Tax/25 [Copy enclosed]. Since 24/04/2010 again the same problem started.
Being a valued customer of Samsung, I am disillusioned by the attitude of your service department which is nothing less than a systematic harassment. Now I am forced to approach your office, so that my sufferings should be taken care of. For only reason of choosing to buy Samsung product, I am inconvenienced for last almost 2 months. I would request you to please ensure that the unit should be repaired immediately, through a special group/squad of technical persons; or you may completely replace the unit with immediate effect and affirm the faith I had on Samsung brand while purchasing all products I use [Audio 3 in 1, Digital Camera, Mobile, Refrigerator & Microwave].
Thanking you,
Yours Sincerely,

(ii) My No. 7910/FHC/HEF/122 dated 25/05/2010
Dear M/S,
Please refer to my above communications. My refrigerator model no. “SR-34 NMB” was finally attended by your rep. Mr. Praveen at 4.30 PM on 27/05/2010. He checked the unit and replaced the “Defrost timer” and asked me to run the fridge for few days and report. Till date it’s running OK. He quoted the price as Rs. 309=00 for the part and handed me over the defective one. Please note that I lodged my 1st complaint on 29/03/2010.
I have a serious doubt on the claim made by the “Specular Services, Pune” that they repaired the unit and replaced Heater, Biometal and Gas of the compressor. The chronology is that: On my first complaint Mr. Hemant from Samsung attended and opined that the compressor had to be replaced. Next came Mr. Shinde with a compressor and I confronted him “if compressor is out of order, how can the fridger compartment be working OK”. He examined and told that the compressor was OK, Biometal was OK but the heater was out of order. He also told me that heater was not available anywhere in India; hence he would find out somebody who can repair it. Then I spoke to your customer care and they also confirmed me that heater was not available. I contacted Specular services, they also told me the same and advised me to exchange it for a new one. Then I contacted service franchisee of Samsung at Cuttack, Odisha. They enquired from Kolkata as well as other regions in India and confirmed me that the heater was not available anywhere in India. They also advised me to try out heater of Whirlpool make. In the meantime I lodged complaints via E-mail vide transaction nos. Now the doubt arose as to how the heater which was not available anywhere in India suddenly surfaced? Was I fakely charged?? If the unit was with the service centre for good 06 days, how come the basic thing like Defrost Timer was not checked, since it’s the main functionary to periodically cut the supply for defrosting??? The defective parts replaced were never returned to me, why????

…02…
On the first instance I believed the service centre’s claim and paid Rs. 4, 645=00 vide a cheque No. 570043 dated 22/05/2010 of Axis bank, Pune, to the person [Mr. Khan] who delivered the unit, after discussing the issue with Mr. Desouza of Specular Services. To my horror the fridge developed same problem on 24/05/2010. I called up Ms. Gauri of Specular Services and intimated her that I was instructing my banker to stop the payment due to obvious reasons. I also told Mr. Desiuza of specular services regarding the problem. I did not get any response till next day, in spite of the promise by Mr. Desouza to attend it immediately. Then I was forced to shoot a complaint to your New Delhi office and Mumbai office on 25/05/2010. After 02 days the Samsung engineer attended the unit and it was made OK. But it’s a matter of regret that I am yet to get any reply/response from the “Samsungs India Electronics” New Delhi office or Mumbai office.
Due to above reasons I have serious doubts on the credential as well as billing of your service centre “Specular Services, Pune”. Thus I have no options left rather than holding the payment and requesting for a thorough investigation in to the entire episode. You may detail a team to inspect the unit and find out the veracity of the claim preferred by the “Specular Services, Pune”.
You may kindly note that your repute as a Leader in the Electronic goods in India is at stake due to such unscrupulous service providers. Please note that payment for genuine service is never an issue and I promise to pay the amount as soon as possible, once the credentials of billing are established.
Being a valued customer of Samsung, I am pained, inconvenienced and systematically harassed during the peak of Summer for more than 02 months with a non-functional refrigerator. Thus I am at liberty to sue your service provider as well as the Company in the Consumers Courte for the above sufferings and claim suitable compensation.
May I once again ask your office to respond to my above complaint at an early date and settle the dispute/issue?
Thanking you,
Yours Sincerely,
Enclo: AA
