Our 2 year old machine (bought from Kohinoor Showroom, Sector-9, Vashi, Navi Mumbai & installed July 31, 2008) warranty expired on July 30, 2010. On Aug 21st, drain-off valve did not open & soapwater remained collected in the machine for 3 full days before the technician (from 'Delight Service', Sanpada, Navi Mumbai) finally came to check. He removed & checked the digital board then replaced it & went off saying that digital board has malfunctioned & will need to be replaced. There was no sign of the technician for another couple of days, despite our several calls & pleas. The technician then called up in the late morning just a few minutes before his visit to say that the cost of the Digital Board was Rs 7000. He came, replaced the apparently, (according to him), defective one with the "new" one, loaded & started the machine and IMMEDIATELY demanded the money from my 78-year-old mother! She called me & I told him that payment would be made as soon as the machine cycle was completed -- I had already started on my way back home on knowing the technician had come -- so that we would have ensured that the part was working OK. After all the problem, in the first place, had occurred at the end (Rinse part) of the Wash cycle. To our utter shock & dismay, the Technician, apparently under the advise of his boss, Mr Param Yadav of Delight Service, stopped the machine, dumped the half-washed clothes out, removed the installed part & left !! As of date (Sept 7, 2010) the machine is still un-repaired. We are being told by customer care as well as Kohinoor Showroom, Sector-9, Vashi, (from where the machine had been purchased), that the problem will be attended "shortly" ! This is utter callousness from all parties involved in the sale of the machine to us -- each has made its money in the sale & now no-one is serious about taking care of the customer's problem; the customer is now just a headache. At present all clothes are beign washed by our old maid who has recently come out of an illness.. for how much longer can we sustain this situation??
