Hi,
I am Raja Mahanta. I bought a Kent Pearl Water purifier in the month of September 2010 @ INR 16950. Since then the pressure switch of the product broke down thrice within a period of 2 months. I contacted the vendor, C3 Business Associates, from whom I bought it. Every time they provided a very good service and replaced the faulty switch. The third time actually they replaced the entire product with Kent Grand+ and returned INR450 as a balance. But again after using this product for 1 and half month the same problem I am facing. Earlier the spokesperson of the vendor Mr. Sridhar said that they are receiving a number of calls everyday for the same problem and it seems that the newer consignments from Kent are having these sort of faulty/ poor quality pressure switches.
This time also they are going to change the switch but my question is the product is within warranty period and thats why they are replacing the space parts free of cost and if this happens again and again after the warranty also then they will simply charge me the cost of the spare and the service charge !! I wanted a permanent solution and wrote to Kent's customer care but did not get any phone call in 24 Hrs.
I would like to request you people to advise me whether to lodge a complaint against Kent and the Vendor. If I lodge a complaint whether they are going to take the product unless the court comes up with any decission. I am not very much aware of these facts. Please help me getting idea so that I can get a justice from the Consumer Court.
For those who are not aware of the technical facts about a pressure switch --
It sits in the water line to sense the water pressure. If the pressure is ok then only it allows the water pump(in the product) to start working. It is a safety measure to save the pump from low pressure condition.
I have examined the water line and the water pressure is perfect when I am facing the problem. The pressure switch is actually fluctuating , making the system on and off several times within few seconds.
