Subject: Defective Split Air Conditioner Supplied

I, Siddhesh Wagle, resident of 202, Pathak Residency, near NL Complex, Anand Nagar, Dahisar E, Mumbai 400068, Mobile Number 09869282313, purchased a split AC of LG make on 14/04/2010, from Omega Electronics, Borivali W. All the payment had been made instantly at the time of Purchase. (AC cost Rs 18,800 and installation charges Rs. 1100/-).
My agony had started from the day one;
1. I got the 1 tone Split Air Conditioner installed in my room at second floor, having dimensions 12 x 9 feet sq having height of 10 feet.
2. I bought split unit for two purposes- 1) To control the room temperature as summer in Mumbai is v.hot room 2) Silent room. But both got defeated as the serviceman who landed for installation installed the external unit just on the back of wall. His workman ship was not proper as the gas got leaked due to faulty instalation. He misguided me purposefully either to save his work or he new before hand that AC was defective and wont cool the room properly. Now my room is noisy and there is no cooling. AC worked barely for just 15 days.
3. On the very first day of installation I had realized that AC was not cooling properly; not even like an ordinary desert cooler. Air temperature and flow was so significantly dismal that even if you were sitting under direct air from AC still you would sweat. That needed no special skills or instruments to judge the performance of AC. AC unit supplied to us was defective, and that was quite clear from observations and output parameters.
4. I started complaining about the AC to the LG helpline. complaint No. is C1051124905. They keen on assuring me that they will send engineer from LG; Just once a technician turn d up and now no signs of any one of them. Now I am not keen on keeping the LG product and want a cash back or replacement of product.
5. The whole 2010 summer is almost ending up in hot. AC was of no use.
6. I am a working person hence I have to take leave of absence from my job to entertain visiting mechanics. Even after a commitment no one turns up and entire day is wasted I have end up loosing my salary.
7. I attempted number of times to know the contact details of any one competent who could find remedy or arrange a visit of any competent AC engineer who could take decision best in my interest; but neither from dealer nor from LG call center I could seek any such contact details; in fact both were intentionally hiding the same. As the same continues we have no option left but to complaint at a consumer court.
8. From Internet I could collect some of the addresses; I am writing this letter if any good solution could be found to my problem.
Looking forward to find a quick response from you. I am not sure whether there will be any redress of my problem or not; kindly ensure that this does not happen to anyone else. First purchasing an item of comfort then following up for defective performance then no remedy; how annoying it could be one can easily feel the anguish.
