Two men representing a company called "Safety Services" based in Aundh, Pune had come on 18-June-2011 to our house in Magarpatta City, Hadapsar, Pune. They told us that they had taken permission for providing contracts for a range of services like pest control, cooking range, hob, chimney, four burner gas and gas gyzer. The terms said: one service per month for a year (for each service type). They even showed us the bills from few others in our area to make us believe that they were genuine.
We purchased the contract for FOUR BURNER GAS (Rs. 400). We had told them, as a special request, to visit only on weekends, and that to call us before they did visit us, because we are residing here as tenants and all of us are working here.
Ever since June, no representative from the company has ever come for even a single service!! 2 of us (the roommates) have called the number mentioned on the bill several times in the last 2 months - but to no avail. One number has not been in use anyway, and the guy on the other number comes up with different reasons every time! He always promises a service on the next coming weekend, but even that doesn't happen. Last time we called him, we told him we wanted the money back, or else we'll register a complaint in Consumer Court. He said OK MADAM.
