In April this year I purchased a Tata Swach water purifier -winner of the Asian Innovation Awards 2010- at Kalkaji in Delhi. After some months pests started to gather in the bottom part of the filter bulb and some of our children started to have stomach problems. The 'sevice' line of Tata was little useful (referring to the shop where the filter was bought and the shop referring to Tata helpline) and eventually I decided to buy a new bulb. However, this time after two weeks the insects started reappearing in the newly bought bulb. The bulb is made in such a way that cleaning is not possible and one is forced to replace the bulb if any inpurity gets inside. After calling the Tata 'helpline' twice eventually a technician was sent to our house. He cancelled coming 4 times and when he eventually came the only thing he said was that we should buy a new bulb, he had already taken one with him ready for us to purchase. Unsatisfied with his solution I once again called the Tata Swach helpline and was told my complaint will be forwarded and I will be contacted within 48 hours.
I am very disappointed in Tata Swach for two reasons. First of all Tata Swach is not pest free and injurous for ones health. Secondly the service of the Tata Swach helpline is below standard, no actual support or service is being provided.
I wish to share this experience with Tata Swatch on this platform as it seems unjust to me products which are injurous for the health continue to be advertised, praised and sold and any complaint on this matter is not taken serious by the company itself.
S.K.
