Angry Unfair Trade Practices by Samsung - Delaying in replacement of defective fridge

    Respected Sir,

This is Subhro Gupta, residing at S1, Block-C, Brindavan Apartments, Chikoti Gardens, Begumpet, Hyderabad - 500 016.

Purchased a Samsung fridge on 30-Oct-2010 from Bajaj Electronics, Punjagutta, Hyderabad.
Model number of the Fridge:- RT32BDPS
    Cost of the Fridge:- 21,300

The fridge started up with a problem from May, 2011, and that the vegetable tray was having water deposited inside and all inside the fridge droplets of water falling which in all way decomposing the entire items kept in the fridge. This is a two door fridge and major problem is with the big chamber.

This was reported to Samsung in the month of May, 2011 and primarily they told they would send a person but no one appeared. I called them thrice and all they did is to take all my details like address, phone number etc. etc. but not the actual complaint and then giving me my consumer id number as 8424078050.

This was a maddening experience and I tracked their Customer satisfaction email ID from their Website as support.india@samsung.com and wrote and email.

The next day a person came and he turned the cooling temperature which we normally keep it at 4 and told to observe for 24 hrs. If its still having the same issue then the unit is to be replaced as the system itself have its units choked inside and which is irreparable as it is in the sealed chamber.

The next to next day I called up and told that nothing has changed. So the Support Engineer told that you would get a call from the branch.

No call came for 2 days and I had to call up the Support Engineer and then within 30 mins the call came asking me the problem. The conversation started as did anybody visited you? How many times? What is the problem and blah blah. They promised to send a person within next day to collect papers from me after which that would be sent to branch office for a replacement.

They also told that you need to submit your original bill once branch agrees for a replacement.

She gave me a ring after 3 days informing that as there is no model available and you would get the full money back and please submit your original Bill. I was very happy with this that at-least though late proper decision been taken.

Next day the Original Bill was submitted to Samsung

Once done all was calm and quite and no sound until I called that lady again and she told its under process.

On the 5th day of submission of the Original Bill the lady called and told that no money back or replacement is going to be done but it would be repaired as those parts were not available at that time and now it is available.

My question is What type of Trade Practice is this when a sealed chamber is to be cut open and replaced with some parts which does not provide guarantee also if the fridge is going to work or not? Is this a guinea pig experiment at my cost?

These guys are corrupted till the highest level and should be punished in the Court of Law. Furthermore I doubt if I would be able to get back my Original Bill or not .

Providing the email chain from where one can find what type of hassle I am going through with this company.

    Please look into this issue.

    With best regards,
    Subhro Gupta

    Hi,

This is Subhro Gupta, from Hyderabad.

My fridge model number is RT32BDPS1/+TL. and my ID is 8424078050.

I purchased one Samsung Refrigerator from Bajaj Electronics on 30th October, 2010. Since then I have been finding problem with water getting deposited in my Vegetable drawer and droplets of water falling inside the fridge. The Upper chamber of the fridge does not have any problem. The fridge's bottom chamber is also getting the ice deposit even when the temp control is at 3-4.

My previous fridge of Godrej which I used for 12 yrs never had any problem and neither any of my friends who are even using Samsung ever had this problem.

I have put up complain thrice to your Help Desk but none of your technician ever contacted me back or no one ever from from Samsung contacted me back. Whenever I call them they take down my details and say we would send the Technician at the earliest.

I request you kindly change this defective set and stop playing this delay tactics with this costly set.

If not done within 2 days then I would contact the Consumer Protection Court and bring this issue up with compensation charges for supplying a defective set.

    With best regards,
    Subhro Gupta

    Hi,

This is the 16th day and after regular visit by your technician and commenting that the Fridge is irreparable, had submitted all papers required by them. They told the problem is in such a section that the part cannot be changed or repaired.

Last week they demanded the original bill and told company has agreed to pay the cheque at par with the Bill amount. The bill was handed over to the person from Samsung.

Today, amazingly they called me up and told neither the fridge is going to be replaced or cheque to be given and we would send technician for replacement of the defective parts. What kind of Business culture you people follow?

    My question:-
    1. How come a part wihich is in sealed chamber be replaced? Does this means they would cut up the sealed chamber and then do? If so then this work process must not be carried out.

    2. When the fridge is known defective then why Company is pushing me to retain the same? Isnt this malpractices that has been carried on by Samsung.

As the process was going smooth I remained quite and never raised the issue to Consumer Protection Court.

This email is now being forwarded and issue being Reported to Consumer Protection Court if I do not get a final version of the money back guarantee within today.

The malpractices being carried out by the Company and mental agony that the Company is making me to go through would be reported and high compensation would be sought in the Court of Law.

    With best regards,
    Subhro Gupta

    Hi,

Please also note that your Service Center people in Hyderabad are very good in making up stories. They don't even know the proper status of my problem and whenever called they make up a new story.

I have suffered a lot with this defective set and with go easy type of Service Center people receiving the phone call.

I cannot make my fridge as a guinea pig and see it's sealed chamber being cut open and parts changed so as to provide me still with a defective fridge.

Please remember in the court if law this amounts to Unfair Trade Practices and if I am not updated and returned my full money back, then I would do what is necessary to stop this scrupulous practices by your Company.

    With regards,
    Subhro Gupta

    Hi,

You are repetitively asking for time. May I know what is the maximum time limit you require to solve this issue?

It seems to me that nothing is being done for this issue.
