Sir,

I am given to understand that your company is an authorized service centre for videocon products and I am to state with great concern that I have contacted your office over telephone on 08.06.2010 for undertaking service of my semi automatic washing machine (brand videocon) and model combie’ 6800 and for rectification of certain defects in the washing machine. Your authorized representative visited my residence and examined the washing machine. He charged Rs. 275/- (Rupees two hundred and seventy five only) towards inspection charges which I paid in cash immediately and no receipt was given to me for the same. The authorized representative informed that the machine has to be taken to your service centre at Ashok Nagar for service, rectification and return. The cost of service and rectification was estimated to be Rs.1850/- (Rupees one thousand Eight hundred and fifty only). On approval, you company staff visited my residence on 11.06.2010 and took the washing machine for service which was duly delivered back to me on 12.06.2010 around eight o clock in the monrning. A Bill was also given to me for Rs.1850/- (Rupees one thousand Eight hundred and fifty only) which was paid by cash to your staff who delivered the machine. Copy of the receipt is also enclosed for your perusal. On checking the working condition of the machine, it is observed with grief that the defects pointed out were not rectified.(water could not be drained from wash tub) and the cycle selector knob is not replaced as promised. Besides, wash tub/spin tub selector is also not working. I immediately contacted your office on 12.06.2010 and requested for immediate rectification of the mistake. No response from your office! Thereafter more than 10 calls made to your office till to day 16.06.2010 only to get no response. Washing could not be done and consequently the dirty clothes have piled up resulting in tension and mental agony. The speed in which the amount was collected from me does not reflect in the service rendered by you besides inadequacy of service. I am deeply concerned and irritated over the attitude of your company and the manner in which the customer of a reputed brand like VIDEOCON is treated.


I am therefore to request you to attend to my washing machine immediately and rectify the mistakes pointed out. IF MY PROBLEM IS NOT ADDRESSED WITHIN 24 HOURS FROM THE DATE OF RECEIPT OF THIS NOTICE, I AM FORCED TO MOVE TO CONSUMER COURT BESIDES FILING CIVIL SUITE CLAIMING DAMAGES AGAINST YOU FOR YOUR UNWORTHY SERVICE.
